A Greater Madison Vision
The greater Madison region is a special place. Quality of life, prosperity, and natural beauty draw and keep people here. These same qualities also fuel strong growth.
Madison and Dane County are growing quickly. Over the next 30 years Dane County’s population is expected to grow by almost 200,000 people – the equivalent of two and half Camp Randall stadiums full of football fans.
Getting growth right requires communities and organizations to work together. A Greater Madison Vision (AGMV) brought regional leaders together and engaged residents to identify shared priorities for future development.
How we grow matters
Since AGMV completed, the
Capital Area Regional Planning Commission
(CARPC)and other regional stakeholders have used these priorities to develop plans and policies.
AGMV goals laid the foundation for CARPC's
2050 Regional Development Framework
. Survey responses emphasizing regional flood resilience inspired the creation of a
green infrastructure plan for the Black Earth Creek watershed
